Amber Rose, 41, recently shared heartbreaking details about her childhood on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. The model revealed her grandmother died by suicide when her mother, Dorothy, was just 10 years old, leaving Dorothy to grapple with lifelong anxiety and depression. Amber explained she essentially “raised herself” while supporting her emotionally struggling mother. “I became her mom at a young age,” she said. “I’d tell her, ‘Everything will be okay.’ For years, I resented her, but now I understand her pain.”

Amber admitted she often internalized her own struggles to avoid burdening Dorothy. “I couldn’t add to her plate. I’d just deal with things alone,” she said.
