Sophie Delezio Shares Heartbreaking Plea After Welcoming First Child With Husband Joseph Salerno: ‘There Is Going to Be Many Tears’
Sophie Dequesne Seeks Parenting Advice as New Mom Navigates Exhaustion
Sophie Delezio, 24, has turned to her social media followers for support, sharing the challenges of motherhood after her 8-month-old son, Frankie, keeps her in a constant cycle of exhaustion. The Australian, who survived two life-altering car accidents as a child, welcomed her first child with husband Joseph Salerno in September 2023.
In a candid Instagram Story, Sophie admitted feeling drained, joking she wished she could “curl up in bed and watch Netflix all day” instead of tackling parenting duties. “How do you keep your child entertained when you’re this tired?” she asked followers. “It’s peak motherhood—I’m juggling top-tier entertainment to avoid tears from both of us!”
Despite the struggles, Sophie cherishes joyful moments, like Frankie’s fascination with nature. “Watching him discover the world—his giggles during walks, his obsession with trees—makes it all worth it,” she shared. However, deciphering his cries remains tough. “It’s heartbreaking when you can’t figure out what they need,” she added.

A Life of Resilience
Sophie’s journey to motherhood follows a lifetime of resilience. At age 2, she survived a horrific accident when a car crashed into her daycare, leaving her with burns covering 85% of her body and resulting in the loss of both feet, several fingers, and her right ear. Three years later, another accident near her Sydney home left her with severe injuries, including a brain injury and broken bones. Doctors twice suggested turning off her life support, but she defied odds each time.

Love and New Beginnings
Sophie and Joseph, childhood sweethearts, married in a fairytale ceremony at Hunter Valley’s Anambah House in April 2023. The wedding included doctors who saved her life years prior. “I’ve lived a million lives in these past few years,” she reflected on Instagram. “Motherhood is exhausting, but Frankie gives me purpose.”
