Gracie Abrams, 25, has fans speculating about her relationship status with actor Paul Mescal after making enigmatic remarks in a candid Cosmopolitan interview. The singer, who stripped down to lingerie for the cover story, discussed love, her career, and Valentine’s Day plans—conspicuously omitting mention of her rumored boyfriend, Gladiator star Paul Mescal, 28.

The interview follows an exclusive DailyMail.com report revealing the pair’s emotional public clash at London’s Jolene restaurant last month. Witnesses described Mescal with his “head in hands” as Abrams wept before storming out mid-meal. “It looked like a breakup,” an onlooker claimed.

While Abrams didn’t address the incident directly, she hinted at relationship ideals: “A healthy relationship doesn’t radically change your life. You fit together in a way that’s challenging yet supportive—a place to land.” Notably, when asked about Valentine’s Day plans, she mentioned touring in Germany and writing music in Paris with producer Aaron Dessner, with no reference to Mescal.

Adding fuel to split rumors, Abrams described love as feeling like “home” and emphasized safety in relationships: “When you’ve felt unsafe before, true safety becomes obvious. Women hear so many voices about love—but it’s about what you want, what’s hot and safe for you.”

The duo had seemed serious months earlier, with Abrams visiting Mescal’s family in Ireland over Christmas. However, her latest comments and solo Valentine’s plans suggest turbulence.

Abrams, daughter of filmmaker JJ Abrams, also criticized the porn industry in her interview, calling it “violent towards women” and urging young fans to question its impact. Meanwhile, she continues her rise in music, with hits like “That’s So True” amassing millions of streams.

As fans dissect her words, neither Abrams nor Mescal has confirmed the split. For now, the singer’s focus remains on her tour—and writing “love letters” through music.
