The iconic Glastonbury Festival opens this Wednesday, welcoming over 200,000 fans to Worthy Farm for performances by headliners like Charli XCX, Doechii, and Rod Stewart. As excitement builds, Vodafone has revealed staggering predictions about data usage: 270 terabytes will be consumed on-site over five days—a 20% increase from 2024.
To put this in perspective, 270TB equals:
- 87,000 hours of HD video streaming
- 28 million Spotify songs
- 77 million Instagram posts
Andrea Dona, Vodafone’s Chief Network Officer, emphasized their focus on connectivity: “We’re delivering the highest capacity ever to ensure the best experience for attendees.”
Boosting Connectivity
Vodafone is deploying 11 mobile masts across the 900-acre site to handle the surge. Free charging stations and Wi-Fi will also be available at its “Connect & Charge” tent.
