Jess Wright Opens Up About Pressure of Not ‘Doing Well Enough,’ Addresses Comparisons to Mark’s Success
Jess Wright Opens Up About Family Pressure and Career Challenges
Reality TV star Jess Wright, known for her role in The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), has candidly shared her struggles with feeling inadequate compared to her successful family. The 38-year-old, who rose to fame alongside her brother Mark Wright in 2010, revealed the pressure she faces living up to her siblings’ achievements.
Jess’s younger brother Josh, 35, is a former footballer turned manager, while sister Natalya, 24, is a rising influencer. In an interview with The Sun, Jess admitted, “I’m really hard on myself. I always think I’m not doing well enough.” She credits her family’s ambition as both motivation and a source of self-doubt, particularly citing Mark’s thriving career as a radio host and TV personality.

Despite 15 years in the spotlight, Jess confessed the entertainment industry remains challenging. “TV is really hard to come by these days. You’ve got new characters coming in all the time,” she said. Her latest project, ITV’s Cooking With The Stars, premieres this week, featuring celebs like Jack Osbourne and Love Island’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu. Jess turned heads at the launch in a chic semi-sheer blouse and polka-dot skirt, accessorized with a designer handbag.
Meanwhile, brother Mark is reportedly set to join Celebrity Bake Off next year, marking his return to TV after welcoming daughter Palma with wife Michelle Keegan in March. A source revealed, “Mark’s a fan of the show and wanted to support Stand Up to Cancer.” Filming has already wrapped, with the episode airing in 2025.

Jess, a mother of two, also shared parenting advice she gave Mark and Michelle. “They’re incredible parents,” she told OK!. “Palma’s an angel, and my boys adore her. We’re always there to help each other—it’s new territory for everyone.”
While navigating her career and family life, Jess remains focused on her goals but acknowledges the constant push to measure up. “I wake up thinking about my career,” she said. “But I remind myself I’m still here, still working.”
