Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams became the target of online ridicule after a video of him struggling during a routine passing drill at training camp went viral. The clip, shared widely on social media, shows the 2024 No. 1 draft pick missing nearly every target in a four-ball drill before yelling in frustration.

Fans wasted no time roasting the 23-year-old, with one joking, “There’s third graders who can do this,” while another criticized his technique: “Not driving the ball with his hips. Class dismissed.” A third quipped, “How are you a pro QB missing that bad?”

Despite the brutal reaction, backup QB Case Keenum defended Williams, praising his work ethic: “He’s been grinding and wants it.” The viral moment overshadowed an otherwise promising rookie season for Williams, who threw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and rushed for 489 yards in 2023. However, the Bears’ 5-12 record and NFL-high 68 sacks allowed highlighted systemic issues.

Looking ahead, Chicago fortified its offensive line this offseason by acquiring guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, plus center Drew Dalman—a move aimed at protecting their franchise QB. Williams will need the support as he aims to silence critics and lead the Bears’ turnaround in 2025.

Fans remain split: some see the viral clip as a harmless hiccup, while others question his readiness. Either way, all eyes will be on Williams when the season kicks off.
