Josh Duhamel Opens Up About Son Axl’s Pre-Teen Crush and Parenting Adventures

Josh Duhamel, 52, is navigating the challenges of fatherhood as his eldest son, Axl, approaches his pre-teen years. The Ransom Canyon actor, who shares Axl with ex-wife Fergie, 50, revealed his son’s summer camp crush in a candid interview with People.

Axl’s First Crush
Axl, who turns 12 later this month, recently attended a Minnesota summer camp where he developed a crush on a fellow camper. “He really wants to see this girl again,” Duhamel shared. “I’m like, ‘Dude! You’re not even 12.’ So, that’s going to be parent-supervised.” The actor humorously added, “Having a son with a crush is a new one for me. But I get it—I’ve been there.”

Duhamel also joked about balancing parenting two sons: “I have an 18-month-old [Shepherd] who’s still pooping his pants. I hope the 11-year-old doesn’t poop his pants on his first date.” Shepherd is his child with wife Audra Mari, 31.

Preparing for Teenhood
The Transformers star is already prepping Axl for adulthood, including driving lessons. “I’ll put him in my lap and teach him to scan the road,” Duhamel said. “I want to get that responsibility in his head early.”

Life Beyond Hollywood
Duhamel, who left Los Angeles for a quieter life in Minnesota, recently collaborated with Car Gurus for their series The Big Deal Show. Reflecting on his love for cars, he said, “Your first car holds so many memories.”

Earlier this year, Duhamel took Axl to an Arsenal soccer match in London. “Took my boy to an @arsenal game in North London this weekend,” he posted, showcasing their bond.
