Australian boxing sensation Jasmine Parr delivered a dominant performance in Sydney on Wednesday night, securing a fifth-round technical knockout against previously undefeated Singaporean fighter Efasha Kamarudin. The 22-year-old, daughter of combat sports legend John Wayne Parr, showcased her explosive power at the ICC Exhibition Centre, improving her professional record to 8-1.

Controversial Moment Steals Spotlight
The match took a dramatic turn when Parr flipped Kamarudin over her shoulder in a move more reminiscent of MMA than boxing. After dodging a wild right hook, Parr ducked under her opponent and lifted her in a fireman’s carry, flipping her onto the canvas. Kamarudin narrowly avoided serious injury by twisting mid-air.
“That could have gone either way,” commentators remarked on Kayo Sports. The referee issued Parr a warning but allowed the fight to continue.

Legacy of Power
Parr’s ferocity isn’t surprising given her pedigree. Her father, John “The Gunslinger” Parr, is a 10-time world kickboxing champion and retired pro boxer with 11 wins (10 KOs). Jasmine transitioned from kickboxing to boxing in 2022, suffering her only loss last year to Australian champion Shannon O’Connell.
UFC in Her Future?
Aussie MMA star Alexander Volkanovski has reportedly expressed interest in recruiting Parr for the UFC. Her manager, Ash Belcastro—who also represents Volkanovski—confirmed talks but noted Parr remains focused on boxing.
“I’d love for Jazzy to go to the UFC,” Belcastro told Fox Sports. “She’s a seasoned striker with Muay Thai roots. Once she achieves her boxing goals, she’d thrive in MMA.”
