"App-Controlled £1,400 Sex Robot Enables Remote Customization of Squeezing, Thrusting, and Moaning"
Ridmii Unveils App-Controlled Sex Robots Amid Security Concerns
From sci-fi fantasies to real-world innovation, sex robots are transitioning from niche curiosities to mainstream discussions, with some experts predicting human-robot intimacy could surpass human interactions by 2050. Joining this wave, Chinese company Ridmii, based in Dongguan, has launched a line of app-controlled sex robots, blending advanced tech with intimate experiences—though not without raising eyebrows over security risks.
Tech Meets Intimacy
The Ridmii robots sync via Bluetooth to the Mutuafun app, available on iOS and Android, allowing users to control features like vibration intensity, suction modes, and even simulated moans. The app’s interface offers 10 vibration settings, 10 suction modes, and six sound options, enabling personalized interactions. A unique group feature lets up to 10 users join a virtual “room” to control the robot remotely, adding a social layer to the experience.
Customization and Cost
Priced at $1,899 (£1,400), the robots come in 22 designs, with options for skin tones, hairstyles, eye colors, and even fantasy-inspired elf aesthetics. While the customization is a selling point, the app’s integration sets it apart, promising “endless pleasure” through seamless digital-physical connectivity.

Security Warnings
Despite the innovation, cybersecurity experts caution against potential risks. Jake Moore, ESET’s Global Cybersecurity Advisor, highlights vulnerabilities: “Any IoT device, especially those handling sensitive data, can be prone to hacking. These robots could be exploited for data theft, blackmail, or even covert surveillance.” The app’s group control feature amplifies concerns, as unauthorized access could compromise user privacy.

Balancing Innovation and Safety
Ridmii emphasizes the product’s role in enhancing digital intimacy, calling it a “bridge between physical and digital interaction.” However, Moore urges users to prioritize security: “Manufacturers must embed robust encryption and regular updates to mitigate risks.”
As sex tech evolves, Ridmii’s robots highlight both the potential and pitfalls of merging connectivity with intimacy—a reminder that innovation must walk hand-in-hand with vigilance.
