Chloe Brockett, 24, has alleged that producers of The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) orchestrated a dramatic on-screen fight with co-star Roman Hackett, resulting in her suspension and eventual departure from the ITV series. The reality star, who joined the show at 19, became known for her fiery persona, romances, and feuds—including a 2023 incident where she threw three glasses at Roman during filming.

The Incident and Allegations

Chloe claims producers pressured her to "chuck a drink" at Roman, despite her reluctance. She told The Sun, "They wanted ratings for their flagging show. When it went wrong, they acted like they weren’t involved." She emphasized that plastic glasses were typically used for staged scenes, but real tumblers were provided that day. "I tried to leave, but they convinced me to stay. I was in no state to film," she added.

Conflicting Accounts

The clash escalated when Chloe alleges Roman called her a derogatory name, prompting her to throw the glasses. Roman disputes this, admitting he muttered the insult after she threw the glasses, not to her face. "I did her a favor by staying quiet, but I won’t tolerate lies," he stated. Insiders close to the show countered that real glasses would never have been allowed if a fight was anticipated.

Fallout and Exit

Following the incident, cast members reportedly demanded Chloe’s permanent removal. She was suspended and later quit, telling MailOnline she dreaded becoming a long-term cast member like Pete Wicks (who left after nine years). "I needed to focus on new opportunities. Five years felt enough," she said.

Criticism of TOWIE’s Authenticity

Chloe criticized the show’s "fake storylines," claiming producers manipulated drama. "They’d push us into arguments that weren’t real," she explained. Roman, however, stood by the series, noting Chloe had apologized post-fight—but not for the glass-throwing.

Aftermath

The pair haven’t spoken since, and Chloe remains firm in her decision to leave. ITV has not commented on the allegations.
