Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Sought for Attempted Murder Following Gun Incident in Violent Brawl

Miami-Dade Police Seek Arrest of Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Over Shooting Incident

Miami-Dade County police have secured an arrest warrant for former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, charging him with attempted murder with a firearm following a violent altercation at a Miami boxing event in May 2025. A judge approved the warrant Wednesday, setting bond at $10,000 and ordering house arrest pending trial.

The Incident
Shocking viral footage from the event shows Brown, 36, allegedly pulling a gun during a physical confrontation before shots rang out, prompting bystanders to flee. Witnesses claim Brown was dragged to the ground by a security guard amid the chaos. Initially, Brown asserted he was targeted by robbers, stating on social media, “I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry.”

However, Zül-Qarnaįn Nantambu, 43—the other party involved—told Daily Mail Brown instigated the fight and fired shots, potentially linked to an ongoing legal feud.

A Complicated History
Nantambu claims Brown stole a pendant from him during a 2022 Dubai trip tied to a Floyd Mayweather Jr. event. After Nantambu sued, a Florida court initially awarded him nearly $1 million, but the ruling was vacated. He now seeks $123,600 in federal bankruptcy court.

Nantambu alleges Brown falsely accused him of theft in Dubai, leading to his brief imprisonment. He suggests Brown’s actions at the Miami event were premeditated: “He thought he’d get a free kill using Florida’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ law”—referring to statutes allowing lethal force in self-defense.

The Fight Escalates
Nantambu told Daily Mail Brown “locked eyes” with him at the boxing event, then called security, accusing him of assault. Videos show a skirmish before Brown allegedly retrieved a firearm. “He grazed my neck. We scrambled for the gun,” Nantambu said, adding that police arrived as Brown fled indoors. No arrests were made at the scene, but Brown later threatened legal action against “individuals that jumped me” on social media.

Nantambu, who also protested at Super Bowl LIX, accused Brown of endangering bystanders: “Kids were screaming. He could’ve hit one of them.”

Behind the Dubai Feud
Nantambu, a filmmaker and activist, met Brown in Dubai in 2022 while promoting jewelry. He claims Brown became combative at the airport before the two later socialized on a yacht with Mayweather. Nantambu lent Brown a pendant, which he says Brown then refused to return. When confronted, Brown allegedly falsely reported Nantambu for theft, leading to his arrest.

Legal and Financial Troubles
Brown—who infamously quit the NFL mid-game in 2021—faces mounting bankruptcy issues despite claiming financial freedom on a podcast. Nantambu alleges Brown sold authentic jewelry to pay debts, replacing it with “fake” pieces.

Miami-Dade police declined to comment further. Brown’s attorney has not responded to inquiries.

The case highlights a turbulent fall from grace for the ex-athlete, blending legal battles, violence, and a history of erratic behavior. As warrants loom, the spotlight intensifies on Brown’s volatile post-NFL life.

Daily Mail has contacted authorities and Brown’s legal team for updates.
