Flight Attendants Warn Against Ordering This Drink During Flights

Flight Attendant Reveals the Worst Drink to Order on a Plane

A flight attendant has sparked debate after naming the worst drink to order mid-flight: fizzy sodas. According to the cabin crew member, carbonated beverages create headaches for both passengers and staff—literally and figuratively.

The anonymous attendant, known as “Jet” on her blog These Gold Wings, explained that carbonated drinks like cola or sparkling water foam excessively due to cabin pressure at 30,000 feet. “Pouring soda from a can is a nightmare,” she said. “The bubbles erupt, and I have to wait for them to settle before serving. It slows down the entire drink service, especially on busy flights.”

Passengers might also want to rethink their fizzy drink cravings for health reasons. The low humidity in airplane cabins already dehydrates travelers, and sugary sodas exacerbate the issue. Additionally, the pressurized environment causes gas in carbonated drinks to expand in the stomach, leading to uncomfortable bloating.

Jet recommends opting for water instead. “Staying hydrated is key to feeling fresh after a flight,” she advised. Her tip aligns with expert travel advice highlighting water as the best choice for in-flight wellness.

While the occasional cocktail or soda won’t hurt, frequent flyers should consider the crew’s patience and their own comfort. After all, nobody wants to land feeling like a balloon.

So next time the drink cart rolls by, skip the fizz—your stomach (and the cabin crew) will thank you.
