Iconic Noughties Pop Group Look Unrecognisable After Glastonbury Performance Announcement

Scissor Sisters Reunite for Glastonbury 2025 with a Fresh Look
The iconic noughties pop group Scissor Sisters will return to Glastonbury Festival this year, marking a highly anticipated reunion—but with a transformed lineup and image. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Scissor Sisters (one of the UK’s top 40 best-selling albums), the band announced their comeback tour in 2023, now as a trio. Original members Jake Shears, Babydaddy, and Del Marquis will take the stage at Worthy Farm on June 28, while Ana Matronic, Paddy Boom, and Randy Real will not participate.

A Nostalgic Yet New Chapter
The band’s Glastonbury performance promises to blend nostalgia with fresh energy. They plan to play every track from their debut album, alongside hits from later releases like Ta-Dah and Night Work. “Glastonbury… where it all began,” they shared on social media. “Your Scissters are comin’ home—see you in the fields.”

Fans erupted with excitement, though ticketless supporters lamented missing out. Comments ranged from “A MOMENT” to frantic hopes for resale tickets. The Saturday lineup also features Neil Young, Charli XCX, and RAYE, but Scissor Sisters’ return remains a standout highlight.

Ana Matronic’s Absence Explained
Ana Matronic, a fan-favorite member, revealed she opted out of the reunion to focus on her podcast Good Time Sallies and historical research projects. “My nerd self has taken the wheel,” she stated, emphasizing her commitment to storytelling. While she won’t join the tour, she cheered on the band: “I’ll be there in spirit to kiki with you!”

Jake Shears acknowledged her absence pragmatically: “It didn’t line up timing-wise… but we didn’t want that to stop us.” Del Marquis added, “We’re honoring her spirit in the show without replacing her.”

A New Era for the Band
The trio’s updated look—especially Jake’s bold hairstyle—signals a fresh chapter. Their tour spans the UK, including Glasgow, Cardiff, and Manchester, promising a mix of nostalgia and reinvention. As they gear up for Glastonbury, fans eagerly await a performance that bridges their glittery past and dynamic present.
