England striker Ivan Toney lashed out at London after thieves vandalized his luxury Lamborghini Urus during a return trip from Saudi Arabia, where he now plays for Al-Ahli. The 29-year-old shared a photo of the damage on Instagram, captioning it: “This is why I hate London.”
The Incident
Toney discovered his £197,000 vehicle with a shattered window and signs of a break-in just days after posting a video of himself training in the car with his two sons. It’s unclear if anything was stolen, but the Brentford icon—who joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli last summer—expressed frustration over the crime.

New Life in Saudi Arabia
Toney’s move to Al-Ahli followed months of speculation about his future. He signed a reported £20 million-per-season deal, swapping London for Jeddah. The striker has since thrived, helping clinch the Asian Champions League title with a 2-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale.
Escape from Gambling Struggles
The transfer came six months after Toney’s return from an eight-month ban for breaching FA gambling rules. He admitted to 232 violations between 2017 and 2021, later revealing a gambling addiction. Saudi Arabia’s strict anti-gambling laws provided a fresh start.

From Milton Keynes to Jeddah
Sources claim Toney finds Jeddah reminiscent of Milton Keynes, his former hometown. Despite Saudi Arabia’s conservative norms, Toney and partner Katie Bio received permission to live together unmarried—similar to Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez.
Mixed Feelings About London
Though Toney spent four years in London with Brentford, the car incident reinforced his decision to leave. In contrast, he’s praised Saudi Arabia’s “calm” lifestyle and family-friendly environment.

Looking Ahead
While his future in England’s national team remains uncertain, Toney’s focus is on his Saudi career—and avoiding London’s pitfalls. As he quipped after the break-in: “Milton Keynes > London.”
