Iconic ice skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean launched their farewell tour, Torvill & Dean: Our Last Dance, with a show-stopping performance at London’s Wembley OVO Arena on Saturday. Celebrating 50 years of partnership, the tour marks their final joint performances before retirement.
The pair dazzled audiences with a blend of nostalgia and new routines. Opening to The Greatest Showman, they were joined by world-class skaters, showcasing their legendary chemistry. Jayne stunned in a shimmering silver-and-white V-neck costume, while Christopher sported a sharp white tuxedo. Later, she donned a bronze sequin off-the-shoulder gown as they raised a trophy triumphantly.

A Legacy Forged on Ice
The British Olympians, who began skating together in 1975, rose to fame after their 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics gold medal performance to Ravel’s Boléro. Earning 12 perfect scores, the routine remains unmatched. Reflecting on retirement, Dean, 66, stated, “We’re not spring chickens anymore… we want to stop while we’re still proud of our performances.”

Emotional Final Bow
The 2025 tour, running through May 11 across the UK, blends classic routines and fresh numbers. Dean called it a “celebration” but admitted emotions will run high. “We’ll feel pride, not sadness,” he shared.

From Olympians to TV Stars
Post-Olympics, Torvill and Dean coached, choreographed, and headlined ITV’s Dancing on Ice from 2006. After a hiatus, they returned as judges in 2018. Last year, the show honored their Boléro legacy, which Dean credits as the catalyst for their global fame.
