Katy Perry Unveils Secret Anxieties Over Upcoming Space Voyage in Confidential Letter

Katy Perry Prepares for Historic Space Flight with Emotional Affirmations and All-Female Crew

Pop icon Katy Perry is set to embark on her first journey to space Monday aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-31 rocket, joining a groundbreaking all-female crew. The 11-minute flight, launching from Texas, includes Lauren Sanchez (fiancée of Jeff Bezos), TV host Gayle King, civil rights advocate Amanda Nguyen, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.

A handwritten note from Perry revealing the mantra “I am safe” sparked speculation about her anxiety ahead of the mission. The singer, who tearfully expressed love for her family in a recent interview, emphasized her goal to inspire “fearless females” and young girls. “I’ll go to space in the future—no limitations,” she said, quoting her self-affirmations.

The crew will experience weightlessness for 3-4 minutes as the capsule surpasses the Kármán line (62–66 miles above Earth), the widely recognized boundary of space. However, Blue Origin’s “first all-female crew” claim faces scrutiny, as Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova completed a solo orbital mission in 1963.

Perry has spent weeks mentally preparing, citing Carl Sagan’s works and visualizing the mission. In a behind-the-scenes video, she showcased the capsule, joking about singing in zero gravity and calling her team the “taking up space crew.”

The flight, launching at 8:30 a.m. CT, will conclude with a parachute-assisted landing. While critics debate the Kármán line’s significance, Perry remains focused on her lifelong dream: “If you believe in your dreams, that’s how you make them come true.”
