BARCELONA—Lenovo has debuted a striking new laptop concept, the ThinkBook “Flip” AI PC, featuring an 18.1-inch vertical foldable screen designed for workplace collaboration. The device, showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, reimagines traditional laptops with a screen taller than a bowling pin or an extra-large pizza.

At first glance, the Flip AI PC resembles a standard laptop, but its screen stretches upward to nearly double the height of the keyboard. When folded backward, the display rotates to share content effortlessly with others—ideal for meetings. Lenovo emphasizes its AI integration for tasks like real-time translation and note-taking, aiming to boost productivity.
“This concept showcases how AI-powered devices will transform collaboration and personalization,” said Eric Yu of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group. The screen can also flatten to cover the keyboard, turning it into a tablet-like device for streaming or solo work.
Flexible Design for Modern Needs
The prototype’s foldable design taps into the growing demand for vertical screens, which are popular for scrolling social media, emails, and videos. Users can split the extended display into two sections or fold it partially for a traditional laptop setup. Lenovo demonstrated at MWC how the screen adjusts automatically to avoid upside-down viewing when shared.

Though labeled a “concept” with no confirmed release date, the Flip AI PC builds on Lenovo’s history of innovative designs. In 2023, the company showcased a rollable-screen laptop that expanded from 12.7 to 15.3 inches in seconds.
MWC 2025 Highlights
The Barcelona tech event drew major players like Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi, alongside AI and telecom giants. While Apple typically skips MWC, this year’s theme—“Converge. Connect. Create”—spotlighted advancements in mobile networks and AI integration.

Why It Matters
Lenovo’s concept underscores a shift toward adaptable work tools. With hybrid roles and video calls dominating modern offices, devices that blend portability with shared functionality could redefine workspace dynamics. The Flip AI PC, though still conceptual, hints at a future where screens bend to our collaborative needs—literally.
