UFC CEO Dana White confirmed via Instagram Live that Leon Edwards (22-4) will now face fifth-ranked welterweight Sean Brady (17-2) at UFC Fight Night 255 on March 22 in London. The Birmingham fighter was initially set to battle Jack Della Maddalena, but Maddalena was promoted to UFC 315’s main event in Montreal, where he’ll challenge champion Belal Muhammad for the welterweight belt.
Edwards’ Road to Redemption
Edwards, 33, lost his title to Muhammad via unanimous decision in Manchester last summer, snapping a 12-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2016. His resume includes wins over Kamaru Usman, Rafael dos Anjos, and Colby Covington. Ranked No. 1 in the division, this marks his first fight since the title loss.
Brady’s Momentum
Brady, 32, has dominated UFC with a 5-1 record since joining in 2019. His only loss came against Muhammad in 2022 via TKO. Known for his grappling and striking precision, the Philadelphia native aims to climb closer to a title shot by defeating Edwards.
