Channel Seven’s Good Friday Appeal has smashed records, raising an astonishing $23.8 million for Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital. The star-studded telethon, supported by celebrities like Sunrise host Natalie Barr and The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur, drew nationwide donations for the 68th annual event.

The fundraiser, broadcast live on Seven Melbourne and 7plus, featured appearances by 7NEWS stars Peter Mitchell, Rebecca Maddern, and Mike Amor, alongside performances by Australian Idol winner Marshall Hamburger and Beetlejuice the Musical’s Eddie Perfect. Highlights included Nitro Circus stunts, a “What’s In The Box?” comedy segment, and Wildlife Xposure’s animal antics.
A New Milestone
The final tally of $23,822,792 surpassed 2024’s record by nearly $500,000. Larry Emdur, 60, shared his pride on social media: “It’s a NEW RECORD! Wow! What an awesome night… HUGE thank you to every person and company who donated.”
Natalie Barr, 57, echoed the sentiment: “Congratulations everyone! We did it. A record for @goodfridayappeal.”

Heartwarming Stories
Emdur highlighted inspiring individuals during his hospital visit, including Emily, a former patient turned nurse. “She was so moved by the care she received that she decided to become a nurse to pay it forward,” he shared.
Seven’s Victorian Managing Director Peter Charles praised the community’s generosity: “This event is close to the hearts of all Victorians.”
The funds will support critical care, research, and equipment at the hospital, continuing its legacy of aiding sick children.
