Pentagon Probes Whistleblower’s Claims of Recovering ‘Egg-Shaped’ UFO

The Pentagon is investigating explosive claims by government contractor Jake Barber, who alleges he piloted secret missions to retrieve crashed UFOs. Barber, a helicopter pilot, came forward in January, stating he encountered an “egg-shaped” object with no engine or thermal signatures during a recovery operation.

The Mysterious Encounter
Barber described hovering 150 feet above the white, smooth craft. “It’s inconsistent with anything I’d ever seen before,” he told NewsNation. The Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) confirmed the case is under review, adding it to 21 active UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) investigations.

Surge in UAP Reports
In a recent report, AARO revealed receiving 757 UAP cases from May 2023 to June 2024, including 272 historical incidents. Most were dismissed as balloons, drones, or lacking sufficient data, leaving 21 unresolved cases. AARO, established to centralize UAP investigations across agencies, only accepts reports from military personnel, with civilian pilots directed to the FAA.

Skepticism Over Transparency
Despite AARO’s efforts, critics like journalist Ross Coulthart doubt full disclosure. He highlighted new AARO director Dr. Jon T. Kosloski’s constrained authority, stating, “The Pentagon dictates what he’s allowed to reveal.” Coulthart alleges decades-long government cover-ups of “non-human technology,” pointing to vague explanations for incidents like the 2024 New Jersey drone swarms, dismissed as “FAA-authorized.”

Political Implications
Coulthart emphasized that transparency hinges on political will, citing Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s new task force aimed at declassifying UFO secrets. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated Luna is “committed to ending the era of secrecy.”

What’s Next?
While AARO continues analyzing the 21 cases—including Barber’s—public intrigue grows. Barber’s account and AARO’s findings may test the government’s willingness to confront UFO mysteries head-on.
