Police Crack Ex-NFL Star’s Birthday Gunpoint Robbery Case with Key Arrest

Arrest Made in Seattle-Area Robberies Targeting Pro Athletes, Including Richard Sherman

A 21-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a string of high-profile robberies and burglaries targeting professional athletes in the Seattle area, including former Seahawks star Richard Sherman. The unnamed individual faces felony charges for a March armed robbery at Sherman’s home and burglaries at the residences of Seattle Mariners’ Luis Castillo and Julio Rodriguez, as well as Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell. He remains held on $1 million bail.

Sherman’s Terrifying Ordeal
On March 29—the eve of Sherman’s 37th birthday—multiple armed intruders broke into the retired NFL cornerback’s home while his wife, Ashley, and their two children were inside. Security footage showed three masked men entering through a window, one brandishing a pistol. Ashley managed to protect their children during the invasion, later sharing footage of the break-in on social media.

High-profile victims include Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, though no direct link to the Seattle suspect has been confirmed.
