Sabrina Carpenter, 25, is weighing a phone ban at her concerts, inspired by a transformative experience at a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas. The pop star, currently topping charts with Manchild, admitted the move might upset fans but insists it creates a more immersive concert atmosphere.

“This will honestly piss off my fans,” Carpenter told Rolling Stone. Reflecting on Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s phone-free performance, she remarked, “It felt like I was back in the ’70s. Everyone was present—singing, dancing, and connecting. I’ve never had a better experience.”

While no official ban is in place, Carpenter hinted at future changes, joking, “Take those phones away when I’m 80. You can’t zoom in on my face then!” For now, she encourages fans to live in the moment during her shows.

Album Art Controversy
Carpenter also faces backlash over her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend (out August 29), featuring a cover of her kneeling beside a suited man gripping her hair. Responding to critics on X, she quipped, “Girl yes [I have a personality outside sex], and it is goooooood.”

Her tour’s risqué choreography for Juno drew similar scrutiny. “People complain but still hype those moments,” she said. “Come to the show—you’ll hear ballads too.”

Joining a Growing Trend
Carpenter follows artists like Adele and Madonna in pushing for phone-free shows. Despite mixed reactions, she remains unfazed, prioritizing authentic fan connections over viral clips.

As Carpenter gears up for her album release, she balances defiance with humor: “Irony? I’m all about it. But the pressure to be funny is real.”
