Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn has swapped the soap opera spotlight for a pole studio, launching a new career as a pole dance instructor. The 43-year-old, who played Mandy Richardson for 25 years, left the Channel 4 show in 2021 after refusing to stop sharing risqué content on OnlyFans.

Dunn recently taught her first pole class at Pole Gym Holmes Chapel, sharing photos of herself in a thong and expressing excitement about her journey. “It was great, and all the women were so lovely,” she told The Sun. “I feel supported and free to be myself—how rare is that?”

Before her teaching debut, Dunn admitted on Instagram she felt “excited and terrified.” She revealed pole dancing became a passion post-lockdown: “From the first spin, I was hooked. It’s given me strength, confidence, and an incredible community.” She now aims to help beginners discover the sport’s “empowering” side.

Dunn’s exit from Hollyoaks followed a co-star’s complaint about her OnlyFans account, prompting the show to ban cast members from joining the platform. Despite the controversy, she stands by her choices, recently showcasing a two-stone weight loss and crediting pole fitness for boosting her confidence.

The actress, who shares son Stanley, seven, with husband Jonathan Smith, added, “I want to feel strong again—pole has transformed me physically and mentally.”

Dunn’s career pivot highlights her embrace of body positivity and autonomy, proving life after Hollyoaks is anything but ordinary.
