Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United for £55 million, marking their first major acquisition under new manager Thomas Frank. The 24-year-old Ghanaian winger signed a long-term contract and will wear the No. 20 jersey next season.

Kudus becomes Thomas Frank’s first signing as Spurs boss.
Kudus, a standout performer for West Ham since his £38 million move from Ajax in 2023, scored 19 goals in 80 appearances for the Hammers. Last season, he netted five Premier League goals and became a fan favorite for his dynamic play and celebratory use of a plastic stool after scoring—a nod to his Ghanaian roots. Spurs playfully referenced this tradition in their announcement by showcasing a stool in a social media teaser.
The transfer breaks an unofficial 14-year embargo between the clubs, with Scott Parker’s 2011 move to Spurs being the last direct player exchange. West Ham released a statement thanking Kudus for his contributions and wishing him well.

Frank identified Kudus as a top target to bolster Tottenham’s attacking options. The Ghana international’s versatility—capable of playing on the wing or as a forward—aligns with the manager’s vision for a dynamic, high-pressing system.
Gibbs-White Deal Imminent
Tottenham are also closing in on a £60 million deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. The 25-year-old England international, who has two years left on his contract, is set to undergo a medical on Friday. Forest faces pressure to sell due to financial regulations, and Spurs moved swiftly after Manchester City cooled their interest.

What Kudus Brings to Spurs
Kudus’ pace, dribbling, and creativity add firepower to a Spurs side that struggled for consistency last season. His breakout performances at Ajax and impactful Premier League campaign showcased his ability to thrive under pressure.

With pre-season underway, Frank aims to integrate Kudus quickly as Tottenham push for a top-four finish. The club’s aggressive transfer strategy signals ambition to return to Champions League contention.
